First, find out who is billing you

Cancel a Google Play fax subscription (step by step)

If the charge comes through Google Play, the whole process takes about a minute. Google handles the cancel, so the fax company cannot delay it or hide the button. Make sure you are signed in to the Google account that bought the plan, because subscriptions are tied to the account, not the phone.

Direct billing is where people get stuck. The app cannot show a Cancel button inside a Google-hosted subscription screen because Google never saw the purchase. You have to go to the company itself.

Start by logging in to the provider’s website on a browser, not the app. Look for Account, Billing, Plan, or Subscription in the menu. Most established services (eFax, MyFax, Fax.Plus, iFax) have a cancel or downgrade option there, though a few route you to a support chat or phone call first. Note the exact wording of the confirmation and save any ticket number.

If you cannot find a cancel option, send a short email to the support address on the provider’s site that states your account email, the plan name, and a clear line: “Please cancel my subscription effective immediately and confirm by email.” Keep that email. If a charge appears afterward, that message is what you show your card issuer.

For plans paid through PayPal, open PayPal, go to Settings, then Payments, then Automatic payments, and cancel the fax company’s entry too. Canceling on the provider’s site usually stops it, but canceling on both sides removes any doubt.

Canceling usually releases your fax number. Most providers hold a canceled number for a short grace period, often a couple of weeks, and then return it to their pool.
